I’m about to move in with my mate Loz into a 2 bedroom place…somewhere.

We’re still looking at the moment, but it will eventually happen, and hopefully the place will be awesome, and I know we will get along fine.

The only setback is… Tait will be staying. And I know that he will be there a LOT, and I know that this is going to piss me off. She made a comment to me today about how he wanted us to get a place close to his work so he can get to work easier. It’s not ABOUT HIM! If he thinks that he is going to stay there every night of the week he has something else coming to him.I think it is unfair on everyone in the house if ‘guests’ overstay their welcome. If Reece stayed over 6 nights a week I know Loz would kick up a fuss about it. And he has to be completely stupid and unreasonable if he thinks that staying over more than 3 nights a week is fair. Yeah sure if he wants to pay rent and help out around the house, that’s fine. But I’m not entering an ‘agreement’ with him. I’m entering it with Loz. If it was him and Loz I probably wouldn’t go in with them at all.

I had a similar situation with Tayeb, our french housemate, when Tom and I were living in Glen Iris. Tayeb was a bit of a party animal, and was always getting home at 3-4am and making a clang in the kitchen with the only boundary between me and the kitchen being 2 curtains. Not fun when you have to work the next morning/are sick. His girlfriend Anne, who I disliked intensely stayed over whenever he was home. That was fine because we never saw each other, all good and dandy, until one day she decided to tell me, in a house that I lived in and she didn’t, to be quiet because she needed to sleep, as she had to work in x amount of hours. It was 4pm during the day, and she didn’t live there!

She made me so angry and was so far over the line it wasn’t funny. She never paid rent, she never helped out around the house, she increased our bills with electricity and water, she always parked in the driveway leaving ME – the paying resident nowhere to park.

This whole situation ended with me blocking her in MY driveway (it was funny when she was late to work), writing an explosive note and ultimately Tayeb moving out of the house.

I don’t want this new situation to end up like the old situation. I like Loz, and I like Tait. I definitely don’t like them together in a place that isn’t meant to be for them at all.
